Stanford University organizes these workshops which have been supported by a consortium of sponsors including the U.S. National Science Foundation, the U.S. National Oceanographic and Atmospheric  Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Institute of Environmental Studies of Japan, the Australian Bureau of Agriculture and Resource Economics, BAEconomics, Electric Power Research Institute, Exxon Mobil Corporation, Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
