Since the summer of 1995 the Energy Modeling Forum has organized a 2-week annual workshop, that brings together climate change experts to discuss the state of the art in climate policy analysis. These annual workshops take place in Snowmass, Colorado.

The Energy Modeling Forum (EMF) at Stanford University organizes these workshops for a consortium of sponsors including the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. National Science Foundation, the U.S. National Oceanographic and Atmospheric  Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Institute of Environmental Studies of Japan, the Australian Bureau of Agriculture and Resource Economics, Electric Power Research Institute, and Exxon Mobil Corporation.
